TTPNG) – Ela Motors proudly marks Papua New Guinea’s 50th Independence Anniversary with
the launch of the “Over the Wall” PNG Mural Project—a cultural and artistic celebration in
partnership with renowned Japanese artist Mr. Kensuke Miyazaki, leader of the Over the Wall
project.
The project has brought joyful murals to nine countries—Kenya, Timor‑Leste, Ukraine, Ecuador,
Haiti, Pakistan, Benin, Palau, and the Netherlands. Papua New Guinea is the tenth, uniting
communities to create “super‑happy murals” that brighten daily life through art.
Ela Motors PNG, Chief Executive Officer Mr. Masaru Mikami said the initiative reflects the
company’s long‑standing commitment to the communities it serves and its vision to connect past,
present, and future through mobility and creativity. The launch honors this national milestone and
expresses deep gratitude to the people of Papua New Guinea—a trusted partner and the home of
Ela Motors for over 50 years.
The journey began in Kokopo and Rabaul, continued through Goroka, and concluded in Port
Moresby. Earlier stages focused on walls; the finale introduced a new canvas—a Coaster bus
guided by Mr. Miyazaki, the bus will travel across the city carrying messages of hope and
friendship—a moving symbol that brings art and joy to people on the streets.
Ela Motors donated this painted coaster bus to Port Moresby Nature Park, where learning, the
environment, and community meet. The donation aims to inspire children to stay curious and care
for nature, helping pass on a better Earth to future generations. The bus will keep moving—
carrying passengers and the spirit of collaboration between Japan and Papua New Guinea.
General Manager – Demand & Supply, Mr. Koichi Haraguchi, conveyed thanks to everyone who
made this possible—in Port Moresby, Kokopo/Rabaul, and Goroka.
“Special appreciation goes to the students whose creativity brought the vision to life, the Ela
Motors team for their dedication, and Mr. Kensuke Miyazaki for his artistry that connected people,
places, and hearts through color.”
This project is more than paint on walls or a bus—it is about connection and shared dreams. With
every brushstroke, every smile, and every kilometer traveled, the story of friendship between
Papua New Guinea and Japan continues.
