Ela Motors Parts Cadet Graduation

March 2, 2024

Our FY22 Parts Cadets, Ms Lisa Omot (Lae), Ms Magdelyn Nathan (Waigani), Benjamin Tamean (Kokopo) and Jason Pawi (Mount Hagen), graduated in February 2024 after completing their 2-year indenture within the Ela Academy Foundations Program.

The Foundations Program education framework focuses on employability skills in balance with fundamental parts of operations technical skills preparation. This focus is on helping cadets develop positive habits and morals that will give them the best opportunity to be successful in the workplace, not only for the company but also for themselves on a personal level.

Employability skills are the key personal attributes needed to enter, operate in, and thrive in the world of full-time work. These are the transferable skills we take from one work situation to another.

Our employability skills framework includes what our company thinks makes a good employee and the personal attributes that contribute to overall employability are:

  • Loyalty
  • Commitment
  • Honesty and integrity
  • Reliability
  • Enthusiasm
  • Personal presentation
  • Common sense
  • Sense of humor
  • Motivation
  • Adaptability
  • Customer First focus.

This is a historic milestone for Ela Motors HR development as we recognize our first Parts Cadet pioneers fully transitioning into their nominated dealerships.
