January 20, 2022

The Friends of Port Moresby General Hospital is delighted to receive a total of K40 000.00 worth of medical supplies containing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for its frontline healthcare workers in support of the Covid-19 response.

This followed a series of PPE donations procured by Ela Motors as part of its ongoing support through its corporate social responsibility assistance program.

Since the outbreak of Covid-19 in 2020, Ela Motors has scaled up its support to provide critical medical supplies to the state health centers to ensure that the healthcare workers are protected and safe.

Ela Motors is confident that this donation will assist POM-GEN to contain the spread of the Covid-19 virus, equip frontline healthcare workers and enhance their operations to provide essential health services to the general public.

Ela Motors Marketing Manager Benjamin Niligur conveyed sincere thanks to the Friends of POMGEN and their efforts to support the hospital. “On behalf of the CEO of Ela Motors, we would like to extend our appreciation for what Port Moresby General Hospital and other state health facilities are doing to fight against Covid-19 and this is our token of appreciation.”

The donation contains more than 2,800 surgical face masks, medical face shields, latex gloves, hand sanitizers and surgical gowns donated to the Friends of POM-GEN officer Ms. Grace Roland with the staff of Covid-19 Center present to receive the items.

Ms. Roland thanked Ela Motors for the generosity and continued support the company displayed through reaching out to the hospital, staff and the patients.
